Knightdale, NC (pop. 8,933*)
Knightdale is a town that is experiencing a huge boom, thanks in part to the expansion of I-540 and general growth in Raleigh and the Wake County area. The 2000 Census Bureau noted that the town had a population of 5,958. Currently the population is rising close to the 9,000 mark. Town planning estimates have the town's population topping 12,000 by the year 2010. With all the area's growth, Knightdale still holds its small town warmth.
With growth, area residents now enjoy new locations to shop, bank, and dine. The promise of Rex Healthcare's expansion to the area has sparked the interest of numerous other health and wellness practioners. Eastern Wake County residents no longer have to journey to Raleigh to enjoy what many consider city amenities.

Garner boasts a small town atmosphere with all the conveniences of being located just minutes away from the state capital, Raleigh. Garner's secondary roadways provide quick access to the Eastern Wake County towns of Knightdale, Wendell, and Zebulon.

The small town of Rolesville captures the true essence of what most people think small town life should be like. With over 1,700 residents recorded in 2006, Rolesville ranks as Wake County's smallest town. Like the rest of Wake County, Rolesville has and is continuing to experience growth. In 1990, the town's population was just under 600. As people continue to flock into the town, the days when everyone knew each other are quickly disappearing. For over a decade, Wake Forest has remained one of the preferred places to live in the Triangle. Wake Forest is located just north of the capital city of Raleigh, NC, making it a hot spot for Triangle area commuters. Rough estimates have the town's population between 22,000 and 27,000 residents. People may not agree on the exact numbers, but no one can deny the continued rapid growth.
Regardless of numbers, Wake Forest continues to uniquely combine the historic and progressive. The town boasts a "vibrant downtown" area, filled with great dining and shopping. Residents can enjoy both convenience and peace and quiet.

Wendell is a town that thrives in the spirit of true southern charm, and it just might be the best kept secret in Wake County. A quick stroll through downtown will reveal quiet streets, lined with both new and established businesses. Local favorites include the century old Kannon's Clothing and Aubrey's & Peedie's Grill. Residents of Wendell have quick access to the increasingly popular town of Knightdale and Raleigh.
Current population numbers are estimated to be approaching or exceeding 5,000 residents. By the way, the correct pronunciation is "win-DELL"!

Zebulon, NC (pop. 4,046**)
With its growth, increasing commerce, and rising home values, the town of Zebulon continues to amaze skeptics. It is quickly establishing itself as a jewel for those investing in the growth of Eastern Wake County. Land once lined with rows of tobacco, has now given way to quiet southern neighborhoods, filled with custom-built homes. Zebulon is also the long-time home of the Southern League Carolina Mudcats and a site of British drug maker GlaxoSmithKline.
Highway 64/264 makes Zebulon the gateway between the Triangle area and Eastern North Carolina.
